Sarah Schiltz, CPA
Partner | MarksNelson CPA
Since 2006, MOCPA and AICPA have partnered to honor outstanding women in the profession through the Women to Watch awards. This program highlights the accomplishments of women in the profession, and demonstrates to emerging female leaders that success is not out of reach.
Sarah Schiltz immediately distinguished herself as a leader at MarksNelson and was steadily promoted until she was named the youngest woman partner in the firm’s history. Her drive, focus and dedication to going above and beyond for the success of her clients have made her an integral component of the firm’s future.
Since Sarah joined the firm’s tax department, it has more than doubled in size, in part because of her ability to generate new business. She’s in charge of the department’s continuing education and has been instrumental in implementing new technology that has increased efficiency. Sarah actively mentors colleagues, both formally and informally.
In the community, Sarah is dedicated to helping make sick children’s dreams come true, having served as treasurer, vice president, and president of the Dream Factory of Greater Kansas City. She is currently on their advisory board, and also served on the organization’s national finance and executive committees. She also was named a rising star by KC Magazine, and as an emerging leader by Wolters Kluwer, CCH.
At the end of the day, Sarah strives to be able to say, “I helped make a difference.” Those around her would confirm she has done just that.
